This is the piece IRBN was built around. A unisex mock neck sweatshirt in 400gsm premium cotton — heavyweight, heavier than most, softer than it has any right to be. The kind of weight you feel the moment you pick it up.
Cut oversized with a clean mock neck and tonal IRBN branding, in Blue Indigo — a deep, muted blue with grey beneath it, closer to dusk than to navy. It works as a layer, as a standalone, as the first thing you reach for in the morning and the last thing you take off at night. Made in Portugal, where the manufacturing standard matches what the fabric demands.
The fit is deliberately generous — worn alone it sits mid-thigh, layered it moves with you. Unisex sizing, S to XXL. Size down if you want a closer fit, stay true for the full oversized silhouette.
400gsm is heavy. Most sweatshirts sit between 280 and 320 — this one holds its shape, drapes rather than clings, and doesn't thin out at the elbows after a season. Loopback construction leaves the inner face open rather than brushed flat, so it breathes as it softens. Knitted and made up in Barcelos, in northern Portugal, where the mills have been doing this for generations. It's 100% cotton — no polyester, no elastane, nothing synthetic in the cloth. Synthetic fabrics shed plastic microfibres every time they're washed; there's no plastic in ours to shed.
Machine wash at 30°. Do not tumble dry. Wash with similar colours for the first few washes. The cotton will soften with every wash — this is by design. Iron inside out on a low heat if needed. Do not dry clean.
